1. Best thing about teaching?

Working with students, following them through their degree, and seeing them graduate and knowing I contributed to their achievement.

2. Best city you've ever visited/lived in?

Canterbury

3. A song you listen to when happy/sad?

Benjamin Britten's  A young person's guide to the orchestra (happy). Gabriel Fauré's Pavane (sad)

4. Biggest education inspiration?

Professor Fred Eckman: the best I have ever had during my studies, and that was when I said, 'I want to be able to teach like that'. He had the knowledge, the personalty and actually knew how to teach. Not forgetting my teachers in secondary school: they didn't give up on me and look where I am!

8. Your teaching philosophy?

Being a teacher is not what I do, it is who I am - Jill Biden said this, and this is totally me.

9. Best bit of advice you ever got?

Whatever it is, this too shall pass.

10. Dream guest on your TTR show?

Any one of Sammy Ramsey, Scott Thornbury and David Nunan.
