All things Chat GPT on TTR

Last night on Teachers Talk Radio, we discussed 'all things chat GPT' featuring a discussion with a panel of guests about the use of chat GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) in teaching and education. You can listen back to the whole show here:

The show was sponsored by 'Plan My Lesson' - PlanMyLesson is a revolutionary new digital assistant for teachers. It can be used on any device and has been developed by a teacher and a technology nerd! PlanMyLesson is powered by the engine behind ChatGPT3. With PlanMyLesson, teachers can easily create lesson plans, worksheets, factsheets and quizzes, and you can even get emailed a full PowerPoint presentation on any topic with just a single instruction. The PowerPoint notes for each slide are also included! PlanMyLesson is constantly evolving: for example, it can now create games suggested in the lesson plan, provide a crib sheet for teachers to facilitate class discussion, and suggest specific activities that can be implemented in the classroom. The main benefit of PlanMyLesson for teachers is that it saves them a significant amount of time and energy - something that is generally in short supply. Visit http://planmylesson.net - it's been live for one week and the use has surpassed all expectations. It will remain free for 3 months and will eventually move on to a pay as you go model, meaning no recurring subscriptions for when you're not using it.

For those who may not be familiar, chat GPT is a type of natural language processing technology that uses machine learning to generate human-like responses to text inputs. It has been used in a variety of applications, including chatbots and language translation, and has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about education.

The guests on the podcast discussed some of the potential benefits of using chat GPT in education. One major advantage is that it allows for personalized learning at scale. With chat GPT, students can receive individualized feedback and support, tailored to their specific needs and abilities. This can help to address some of the challenges that teachers face when trying to support a diverse group of learners in a traditional classroom setting.

Another advantage of chat GPT is that it can be used to provide additional support outside of the classroom. For example, students who need extra help with a particular subject can use chat GPT to get personalized explanations and examples, which can be particularly useful for those who may be struggling to keep up with the pace of a traditional class.

Of course, like any technology, chat GPT also has its limitations. One concern that was raised on the podcast was the possibility that it could replace human teachers. While chat GPT can certainly be a useful supplement to traditional education, it is not a replacement for human interaction and guidance.

Overall, the guests on the podcast were optimistic about the potential of chat GPT to enhance teaching and learning. While there are certainly challenges to overcome, they believe that this technology has the potential to transform the way we think about education and to make learning more accessible and effective for all students. So, it's a promising and exciting development in the world of education, and I'm looking forward to seeing how it continues to evolve and be utilized in the future.

Thanks CHAT GPT for writing this blog for us!
